The debate rages on to confirm the new President's Cabinet. One of those to be confirmed is Dr. Tom Price, an orthopedic surgeon, and a 6 term representative from Georgia, has been appointed to head the Department of Health and Human Services. This is the Department which administers and oversees Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act. In 2010 we were all assured by Mr. Obama that we could keep our policy and our doctor and that application to Obamacare guaranteed a lower premium cost. He promised that such universal coverage would even reduce the national debt. However, we couldn't keep our policy, or doctor, our premiums have soared and the National Debt has risen from 10 trillion dollars to 18 trillion during his administration. Yep, something has to be done. Additionally, according to Forbes, the ACA will increase the debt by $200 billion per year. Why? Because we are subsidizing 25 million people who have insurance and don't pay for it, and the middle class are being killed by rising premiums and taxes. The original policy called upon everyone to pay not only for birth control, but also abortions. Virtually, every leftist minority group has contributed to a bad act which was sold by absolute lies. What can we do? How about creating an honestly affordable policy with only the necessities included for everyone. If you want or need extras, you assume and pay for the risk. Everyone needs hospitalization and co-pay for doctor visits. You can pay for your own birth control and abortion. People with pre-existing conditions can be placed in a separate pool and can share the risk and cost together. Medical insurance costs for young people are less than average, so they should be allowed to remain on their parent's policies while they remain students. Best of all, private Insurance companies should be allowed to competively bid on covering a percentage of the policies. Gradual movement to the private sector out of the bureaucracy will save money and increase efficiency. The ultimate objective would be for the states to reassume control over the insurance industry and Medicaid.
